A vivacious, brown-eyed ingenue whose "bad girl" antics as the devil-may-care Rayanne on "My So-Called Life" (ABC, 1994-95) initially provided some of the show's lighter moments before her character descended into alcoholism, Langer acquired the nickname "A.J.," the initials of her first and middle name, because as a youngster she was something of a tomboy being the only girl playing on a little league baseball team. Her first regular TV exposure was on the Dabney Coleman sitcom vehicle "Drexell's Class" (Fox, 1991-1992) as the older daughter. Langer also made guest appearances on the TV dramas "In The Heat of the Night," "Beverly Hills, 90210," and "Baywatch." In 1996 on the ABC sitcom "Coach," she played a recurring role of a pregnant teenager who promised her child to Coach Hayden Fox and his wife. Her big screen debut was a featured role in Wes Craven's uneven horror film "The People Under The Stairs" (1991) and was featured in John Carpenter's "Escape From L.A." (1996).
