A prolific television actress, Abigail Spencer was best known for her dramatic roles, but also branched out into occasional quirky comedic parts. Spencer began acting on the small screen in 1999 while still her teens, playing a recurring role on "All My Children" (ABC, 1970-2011). A series of one-off appearances on primetime shows led to her casting as the lead on the procedural drama "Angela's Eyes" (Lifetime, 2006), which lasted only one season. More TV guest spots followed, and, in 2009, she finally landed a high-profile role, portraying a recurring part as Suzanne Farrell on the hit period drama "Mad Men" (AMC, 2007-15). Spencer soon started winning featured roles in Hollywood films, including the sci-fi Western "Cowboys & Aliens" (2011) and the surfing movie "Chasing Mavericks" (2012), and she subsequently starred in the 2013 horror sequel "The Haunting in Connecticut 2: Ghosts of Georgia." That year proved to be a remarkably busy one, with a small part in the fantastical prequel "Oz the Great and Powerful," a role on the online reality-TV spoof "Burning Love" (Yahoo!, 2013), and a regular gig on the well-received drama "Rectify" (Sundance 2013-16) all reinforcing Spencer's notable versatility. Her breakout role came with her star turn in the time travel drama "Timeless" (NBC 2016- ).
