Actor Army Archerd was known for his roles on the silver screen. Archerd started his acting career landing roles in such films as the Clark Gable comedy "Teacher's Pet" (1958), the Paul Newman comedy "A New Kind of Love" (1963) and the Jack Lemmon comedy adaptation "Under the Yum Yum Tree" (1963). He also appeared in the Shirley MacLaine musical comedy "What a Way to Go!" (1964), "Wild in the Streets" (1968) and the Kevin Coughlin drama "The Young Runaways" (1968). He continued to act in productions like the Ricky Paull Goldin comedic adventure "Hyper Sapien: People From Another Star" (1986) and the comedy "Repossessed" (1990) with Linda Blair. He also appeared in the TV special "Miss Hollywood, 1986" (ABC, 1985-86). Additionally, he appeared on the television special "The Making of My Fair Lady: More Loverly Than Ever" (Disney, 1994-95). Archerd last appeared in "The 30th Annual People's Choice Awards" (CBS, 2003-04). Archerd was married to Selma Archerd. Archerd passed away in September 2009 at the age of 90.
