Art Buchwald was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. He appeared in a number of television specials, including "The Entertainers" (1964-65), "That Was the Year That Was" (ABC, 1972-73) and "The Sensational, Shocking, Wonderful, Wacky '70s" (NBC, 1979-1980). He also appeared in "The American Film Institute Salute to Frank Capra" (CBS, 1981-82). He worked in series television while getting his start in acting, including a part on "Evening at Pops" (PBS, 1969-2002). He also contributed to a variety of television specials, including "Humor and the Presidency" (1986-87), "Tanner '88: Something Borrowed, Something New" (HBO, 1987-88) and "The Television Academy Hall of Fame" (Fox, 1988-89). Additionally, he could be seen on a variety of television specials like "Robert F. Kennedy: The Man, the Myth and the Memories" (1992-93), "Nichols and May -- Take Two" (PBS, 1995-96) and "Catch-22" (TLC, 1996-97). He also appeared in "Mike Wallace Remembers" (CBS, 1997-98) and "The GI Bill: The Law That Changed America" (PBS, 1997-98). Buchwald last appeared on "Norman Jewison on Comedy in the 20th Century: Funny Is Money" (Showtime, 1999-2000). Buchwald passed away in January 2007 at the age of 82.
