Actor Arthur Peterson appeared in a variety of films over the course of his Hollywood career. In 1936, he played the role of Dr. John Rutledge on the radio serial "The Guiding Light." In 1971, he founded Actors Alley Repertory Theater in L.A. Early on, Peterson mostly landed roles in various films, including the James Stewart drama "Call Northside 777" (1948), the adaptation sequel "Return to Peyton Place" (1961) with Carol Lynley and the Yul Brynner western "Invitation to a Gunfighter" (1964). Peterson worked in television around the start of his acting career with a role on "The Twilight Zone" (CBS, 1959-1964). He continued to act in productions like the thriller "Targets" (1968) with Boris Karloff and "The Great Northfield, Minnesota Raid" (1972) with Cliff Robertson. He also appeared in the TV special "Rear Guard" (ABC, 1975-76). His work around this time also included a part on the TV movie "The Adventures of Nick Carter" (NBC, 1971-72). He also was featured in the TV movie "The Spell" (NBC, 1976-77). Peterson more recently appeared in "Just Pals" (CBS, 1982-83). Peterson passed away in October 1996 at the age of 84.
