The first Israeli supermodel to become a global household name, Bar Refaeli was a superstar in her native country before conquering the world with her gorgeous Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue pictorials. Facing unique cultural expectations due to her heritage, Refaeli weathered controversies, due to her lack of military service, her sexy photo shoots and her boyfriends' nationalities. Nevertheless, she became a pop cultural phenomenon, in great part due to her long-term relationship with Hollywood's own "King of the World," Leonardo DiCaprio, which began in 2005. Arguably one of the most famous couples of their time, they managed to keep surprisingly quiet about their relationship, even as they entered an on-again, off-again phase before splitting in 2011.
