Barbara Britton was widely known for her acting on the big screen. Early on in her acting career, Britton landed roles in various films, including the comedy adaptation "Louisiana Purchase" (1941) with Bob Hope, the Brian Donlevy action picture "Wake Island" (1942) and the drama "So Proudly We Hail" (1943) with Claudette Colbert. She also appeared in the dramatic adventure "The Story of Dr. Wassell" (1944) with Gary Cooper, "Captain Kidd" (1945) with Charles Laughton and the Joel McCrea adaptation "The Virginian" (1946). Her passion for acting continued to her roles in projects like the William Bendix mystery "Cover-Up" (1949), "Loaded Pistols" (1949) and "I Shot Jesse James" (1949). She also appeared in "Champagne For Caesar" (1950) with Ronald Colman. She held additional roles in television including a part on "The Revlon Revue" (CBS, 1959-1960). Most recently, Britton worked on "The 2003 Essence Music Festival" (UPN, 2003-04).
