Bartlett Robinson was a television and film actor who appeared in over 100 television shows in less than 30 years. He also has 20 films to his credit. Robinson made a smooth transition from stage to television by appearing on several televised live drama "playhouses," including "The Philco-Goodyear Television Playhouse," where he made his TV debut in 1954, "Lux Video Theatre" in 1956, and "Jane Wyman Presents The Fireside Theatre" in 1957. On the big screen, Robinson played Benjamin Frank Mahoney, the president of Ryan Airlines, supporting James Stewart's Charles Lindbergh in the 1957 drama "The Spirit of St. Louis," and then had another supporting role in the Susan Hayward crime drama "I Want to Live!" in 1958. Back on television, Robinson had a recurring role on the classic crime mystery "Perry Mason," appearing in eight episodes from 1959 to 1966, while in 1965 he took on a lead supporting role on the Juliet Prowse comedy "Mona McCluskey" as Frank Caldwell; the series lasted only a season but Robinson appeared in all 26 episodes. Robinson is also known for his portrayal of Dr. Orva, from Woody Allen's 1973 Rip Van Winkle-esque sci-fi comedy, "Sleeper." Robinson died at the age of 73.
