Billy Bush

With his unapologetically brash personality and off-the-cuff sense of humor, Billy Bush made a big splash in a big pond right from the start; first as a correspondent, then as a co-host on NBC's "Access Hollywood" (1999- ), then moving to the big leagues as a cohost on the venerable "Today" (NBC 1952- ). A distant cousin of U.S. President George W. Bush - perhaps the only personality trait he shared was the last name - Bush was as plugged-in and catty as they come - but not catty enough to put off celebrities. Whether buying Heidi Klum pizza backstage before the Victoria's Secret fashion show or quizzing Penelope Cruz on how to spell boyfriend's Matthew McConaughey's name, Bush's goofy sense of humor and ingratiating personality put stars at ease and charmed viewers. Ironically, however, his unwitting involvement in a political scandal ended up seriously damaging his career when a 2005-vintage audio recording of Bush engaged in a vulgar conversation with Donald Trump on the Access Hollywood bus, in which the future President of the United States detailed his failed attempts to seduce the show's host Nancy O'Dell and claimed that as a celebrity, women would let him "grab 'em by the p---y" without complaint. Bush was fired from "Today" in October 2016 as a result of the ensuing scandal.
