A natural class clown, Brandon T. Jackson was destined for a career in comedy. The Detroit native participated avidly in local talent shows and performed during youth nights at his father's church. After graduating from West Bloomfield High School, Jackson moved to Hollywood to pursue stand-up comedy. During this time, in 2001 he found work as an extra in prominent films such as "Ali," "Bowling for Columbine," and "8 Mile." His comedy career began to take off: he performed at the Laugh Factory, opened for Wayne Brady and Chris Tucker, and gave a successful series of performances at New York City's "Showtime at the Apollo." In 2005 he scored a supporting role in the comedy-drama "Roll Bounce." The following year, Jackson hosted the "Up Close and Personal Tour," which featured the likes of Chris Brown and Lil Wayne. In 2008 Jackson played a supporting role in Ben Stiller's explosive comedy "Tropic Thunder" alongside Robert Downey Jr. and Jack Black. He then landed a prominent leading role in 2011's crime comedy "Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son," the second sequel to 2000's "Big Momma's House." In the film, Lawrence once again played FBI agent Malcolm Turner and Jackson replaced Jascha Washington in the role of Trent, Malcolm's stepson.
