A character actor usually cast as a cop or similarly tough guy, Brent Sexton amassed an impressive string of credits, including small roles in films such as "A.I. Artificial Intelligence" (2001), "Radio" (2003), "In the Valley of Elah" (2007) and "W." (2008). He appeared more frequently on television, where, in addition to guest spots on a lengthy string of shows, he recurred as a murderer married to a law clerk on "Judging Amy" (CBS, 1999-2005), the Italian-American family dramedy "That's Life" (CBS, 2000-02), a detective on "Birds of Prey" (The WB, 2002-03), and most memorably as Harry Manning on the Western "Deadwood" (HBO, 2004-06) and Officer Bobby Stark on the crime drama "Life" (NBC, 2007-09). His profile enjoyed a large boost when he landed the role of Stan Larsen, the father of the murder victim at the center of "The Killing" (AMC 2011-13; Netflix, 2014), the critically acclaimed American adaptation of the Danish murder mystery series. Although he may not have become a household name, Brent Sexton built a lengthy, impressive career as a well-respected journeyman character actor.
