Irish actress Bronagh Gallagher started performing in plays when she was still in high school. From there she got involved in a local theater company, and soon began appearing in both dramas and musicals, music being another interest of Gallagher's. Luckily for Gallagher, her love of music would lead her to her breakthrough movie role in the 1991 music-themed drama "The Commitments." Gallagher followed that up by having a small role in director Quentin Tarantino's 1994 gangster drama "Pulp Fiction," which would go on to be nominated for seven Academy Awards, including Best Picture. Gallagher continued appearing in films throughout the '90s, including the drama "Painted Angels," the romantic comedy "This Year's Love," and George Lucas's "Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace," in which she had a small role as a Republic Cruiser Captain. Gallagher continued to appear in minor films and television series throughout the early 2000s but by the end of the decade she also began appearing in more noteworthy movies. In 2008 she starred alongside Academy Award-winner Dustin Hoffman in the romantic drama "Last Chance Harvey," and played a palm reader in the 2009 blockbuster, "Sherlock Holmes." When she's not acting Gallagher continues to sing in local pubs throughout Dublin.
