Chubby Johnson was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Johnson kickstarted his acting career in various films such as the Errol Flynn action movie "Rocky Mountain" (1950), "Forth Worth" (1951) and the western "Bend of the River" (1952) with James Stewart. He also appeared in "Here Come the Nelsons" (1952) with Ozzie Nelson, the Audie Murphy adaptation "Gunsmoke" (1953) and "Back to God's Country" (1953) with Rock Hudson. He continued to act in productions like "Last of the Comanches" (1953), "Law and Order" (1953) and the western "Cattle Queen of Montana" (1954) with Barbara Stanwyck. He also appeared in the James Stewart adventurous drama "The Far Country" (1955). Film continued to be his passion as he played roles in the Tony Curtis western "The Rawhide Years" (1956), the remake "The True Story of Jesse James" (1956) with Robert Wagner and the Jeff Chandler western "Drango" (1957). He also appeared in the crime adaptation "The River's Edge" (1957) with Ray Milland and "Twilight of Honor" (1963). Johnson more recently acted in the Burt Reynolds western "Sam Whiskey" (1969). Johnson passed away in October 1974 at the age of 71.
