Dandy Nichols was an actress who had a successful Hollywood career. Nichols began her acting career with roles in such films as "The History of Mr. Polly" (1949) with John Mills, "The Pickwick Papers" (1954) and the dramatic adaptation "The Deep Blue Sea" (1955) with Vivien Leigh. She also appeared in the thriller "Blonde Sinner" (1956) with Diana Dors, "Town on Trial" (1957) with Charles Coburn and the Max Bygraves drama "A Cry From the Streets" (1958). Her passion for acting continued to her roles in projects like "The Amorous Adventures of Moll Flanders" (1965), the comedy adaptation "The Knack... and How to Get It" (1965) with Rita Tushingham and the John Lennon comedy "Help!" (1965). She also appeared in "The Leather Boys" (1966). Toward the end of her career, she continued to act in the Robert Shaw dramatic adaptation "The Birthday Party" (1968), "Till Death Do Us Part" (1969) and "The Bed Sitting Room" (1969) with Ralph Richardson. She also appeared in the John Moulder-Brown drama "First Love" (1970) and the comedy "O Lucky Man!" (1973) with Malcolm McDowell. Nichols more recently acted in the Leonard Rossiter comedy "Britannia Hospital" (1983). Nichols passed away in February 1986 at the age of 79.
