British actor Danny Midwinter's brawny build and stolid good looks have been essential to his long-time career in supporting roles focusing primarily in crime dramas, but also comedies, period dramas and thrillers. Beginning in 1993, Midwinter appeared in small roles in television series and movies, including "Supply and Demand," "Chalk" and the 1997 mystery "The Ice House," which starred Corin Redgrave and Daniel Craig. Midwinter then had a recurring role in the popular series "Kavanagh, Q.C.," John Thaw's follow-up to his successful turn as "Inspector Morse." In a change, Midwinter was next featured in the comedy feature film "Human Traffic," centering around the night club life in Cardiff, starring John Simm. Midwinter's next roles included the 2001 dark comedy, "Kiss, Kiss, Bang, Bang" and the quirky thriller "The Last Minute." Midwinter returned to the small screen appearing in some of Britain's most recognized television series including "Wire in the Blood" and the highly praised but short-lived "Murphy's Law," starring James Nesbitt. Midwinter again secured a recurring role in the soccer drama series "Dream Team" in 2006 and has played a variety of one-off characters in the long-running police drama "The Bill." Midwinter also appeared over the years in the long-running British medical series "Casualty" as well as another British staple series, the soap opera "EastEnders."
