Writer and producer Dave Erickson's first credit came in 2002, when he wrote "Power and Beauty," a TV movie about a woman's alleged affair with John F. Kennedy. Over the next few years Erickson wrote other TV movie scripts, largely based on sensational true-crime stories such as "Murder in Greenwich" (2002) about the murder of a teenager from a wealthy Connecticut family, and "The Perfect Husband: The Laci Peterson Story" (2004) which starred Dean Cain and told the story of a man accused of murdering his pregnant wife. In 2008 Erickson became the co-executive producer of "Canterbury's Law" (Fox 2008), which starred Julianna Margulies, as a defense attorney with unorthodox methods. The series was short-lived, but that same year Erickson became a writer and consulting producer on the series "Sons of Anarchy" (FX 2008-2014). The show focused on a California family involved in a motorcycle gang. Erickson remained in his role for two seasons before being promoted to co-executive producer during the show's third and fourth seasons. In 2013 Erickson was named the co-executive producer of the mystery series "Low Winter Sun" (AMC 2013). The network had high hopes for the series, but the show was poorly received and soon cancelled. In 2014 it was announced that Erickson would be the executive producer of a spinoff of the series "The Walking Dead" (AMC, 2010-), the hit series about humans struggling to stay alive following a zombie apocalypse.
