David Oakes is a classically trained English actor who is renowned for his work in historical television dramas. Oakes was a member of the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and had his first important role in the college-themed miniseries "Trinity" in 2009. He next appeared in the highly acclaimed historical drama "The Pillars of the Earth," and further raised his profile in 2011 with a role in the period series "The Borgias" playing Juan Borgia, one of the show's key characters. Oakes also appeared in the 2011 horror thriller "Truth or Dare," a distinct change of pace for the young actor.
