Having emerged from the shadows of past Disney darlings, Debby Ryan already knew a thing or two about transitioning from being a child star to the next teen queen. After receiving her start on television commercials and guest spots on popular Disney Channel shows like "Hannah Montana" (2006-2011) and "Wizards of Waverly Place" (2007-2011), Ryan then made a splash on the hit series "The Suite Life on Deck" (Disney Channel, 2008-2011), where she played girl-next-door Bailey Pickett, a sweet country girl who catches the eye of one of the twin boys (Dylan and Cole Sprouse) attending a semester-at-sea program. The role thrust Ryan into the limelight and helped her land the title role on "Jessie" (Disney Channel, 2011-15). As a fish-out-of-water Texan who becomes a nanny in New York City, Ryan showcased a more mature and responsible side, signaling that the talented actress was primed for bigger and more interesting roles.
