Del Moore started off his performing career as a radio announcer but made the move to acting with an uncredited role in 1951 in "The Story of 'Rapunzel'." By 1953, he was co-starring in the sitcom "Life with Elizabeth" as Alvin, husband to the title character, played by Betty White. He appeared in 12 episodes over the two-year run of the series. In 1960, he landed an uncredited role as a radio announcer in his friend Jerry Lewis's film "Cinderfella," a sendup of the classic fairy tale "Cinderella." He appeared in small roles in other Lewis films, such as 1967's "The Big Mouth," 1964's "The Patsy," and in 1963, "The Nutty Professor," where he appeared as the university president. Moore was also friends with actor, director, and producer Jack Webb, which led him to appear in several episodes of the police dramas "Dragnet 1967" and "Adam-12."
