Derek McGrath is a Canadian actor who got his start at the age of 10 in Ontario as a stage and radio performer. He moved to Toronto to pursue his career, and appeared in "You're A Good Man Charlie Brown." He also proved his comedic talent by appearing in several productions of Toronto's Second City, a well-known improvisation troupe. Along with improv, his particular set of skills includes musical abilities: McGrath plays the guitar and has written his own music. Throughout his career, he was cast in numerous television series, including "Dallas," as Ozwald Valentine, and "My Secret Identity," where he portrayed Dr. Benjamin Jeffcoate. He is most well known, however, for his role in the beloved sitcom "Cheers," where he portrayed psychotic ex-con Andy Schroeder. His longest-running appearance in a television series was from 2007 to 2011, when he played Reverend Duncan Magee in the satire "Little Mosque on the Prairie." In between his roles in movies and television shows, McGrath has done voice work for several animated films. In the children's series "Iggy Arbuckle," he voiced Spiff, a friend of Iggy the pig. He also provided the voice of the major of Maple Lake in "Bob & Doug," among many other animated characters.
