Throughout his Hollywood career, El DeBarge had a variety of powerful musical performances. DeBarge worked on a variety of projects during his early entertainment career, including"Listen Up" (1990) starring Quincy Jones, "Short Circuit" (1986) starring Ally Sheedy and "The 28th Annual Grammy Awards" (CBS, 1985-86). He also contributed to "The 4th Annual Soul Train Music Awards" and "The American Music Awards" (ABC, 1985-86). In the nineties and the early 2000s, DeBarge devoted his time to various credits, such as "The 6th Annual Soul Train Music Awards" "13th Annual Soul Train Music Awards" and "7th Annual Soul Train Lady of Soul Awards" (2001-02). He also worked on "Soul Plane" (2004) and "Are We There Yet?" with Ice Cube (2005). DeBarge was also known for his contributions to the adaptation "Bride and Prejudice" (2005) with Martin Henderson, the Steve Carell smash hit comedic drama "The 40-Year-Old Virgin" (2005) and "American Reunion" (2012). DeBarge's music was most recently used in "Annie" (2014) with Jamie Foxx. In addition to his music, DeBarge also appeared on-screen in the Angela Bassett comedy "Jumping the Broom" (2011).
