Evelyne Brochu

A rising star with striking beauty, Évelyne Brochu proved herself capable of impressing audiences in dramatic and comedic roles alike. Born in 1983, Évelyne Brochu broke into the film industry with a small role as a pharmacist in "Cheech" (2006), a hard-edged drama about a struggling lower-tier escort service and its desperate employees. She earned a bigger part as one of the engineering students caught in the crosshairs of a misogynistic killer in the wrenching "Polytechnique" (2009). The film, a thoughtful dramatic analysis of the real-life 1989 École Polytechnique massacre, won multiple awards and attracted international acclaim. After a supporting turn in the sci-fi mystery "Grande ourse: la clé des possibles" (2009), Brochu recurred on the deception and double-lives drama "Aveux" (Radio-Canada, 2009), for which she earned a Best Supporting Actress Gémeaux nomination, as well as on the public relations firm serial "Mirador" (Radio-Canada, 2010-11). The actress returned to the big screen with supporting roles as a kindhearted teacher new to town in "Frisson des collines" (2011) and a sensual young lover caught in a romantic triangle in the drama "Café de Flore" (2011).
