Born in Belgium to Italian parents, Fabrizio Rongione got his acting start on the stage in 1997. He caught his big break two short years later when he was discovered by the brother directors Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne. He wound up co-starring in the award-winning French drama "Rosetta" (1999), written and directed by the celebrated directors. The Dardenne brothers loved working with the young actor, and subsequently worked with him on a variety of films, including "L'Enfant" (2005), Lorna's Silence (2008), and "The Kid with a Bike" (2011). But that wasn't all the bourgeoning Belgian actor did. In 2002, he formed his own production company, called Eklektik Productions, though his acting, in other films such as "The Last Gang" (2007), "Diaz" (2012) has gotten in the way of his writing and directing aspirations. Rongione did co-write and star in "Ca rend heureux" (2006), a French comedy from his production company. During this period, he also dabbled in television, most notably in a role on the French crime drama "Mafiosa" (Canal+ 2006-2014) and the period drama "Un village francais" (France 3 2009- ). Rongione's biggest role was in the Dardenne brothers' "Two Days, One Night" (2014), which co-starred Marion Cotillard. The critically-acclaimed drama was the biggest spotlight Rongione had to date, especially given his co-star's Academy Award nomination for Best Actress.
