Franklyn Ajaye built quite a career for himself as a vibrant source of comedy, starring in many films throughout his Hollywood career. Ajaye's career in acting began with his roles in various films like the Stockard Channing crime picture "Dandy, the All American Girl" (1976), "Car Wash" (1976) and the Kris Kristofferson action picture "Convoy" (1978). He also appeared in the adaptation "The Jazz Singer" (1980) with Neil Diamond, "Stir Crazy" (1980) and the comedy "Hysterical" (1983) with William Hudson. He kept working in film throughout the eighties, starring in "Fraternity Vacation" (1985), "Hollywood Shuffle" (1987) with Robert Townsend and "The Wrong Guys" (1988). He also appeared in the Tom Hanks comedy "The 'Burbs" (1989). Ajaye continued to exercise his talent in the nineties and the early 2000s, taking on a mix of projects like "Back to School '92" (CBS, 1992-93), "George" (ABC, 1993-94) and "Townsend Television" (Fox, 1993-94). His credits also expanded to "Queen of the D*mned" (2002) starring Stuart Townsend. Ajaye most recently acted in the Kristen Wiig hit comedy "Bridesmaids" (2011). Ajaye was nominated for an Outstanding Writing In a Variety or Music Program Primetime Emmy Award for "In Living Color" in 1990 as well as for an Outstanding Writing For a Variety or Music Program Primetime Emmy Award for "Politically Incorrect With Bill Maher" in 1997.
