Galt MacDermot was most commonly known for his impressive musical talents. MacDermot began his entertainment career with his music featured in films like "Cotton Comes to Harlem" (1970), "Golden Apples of the Sun" (1971) with Percy Harkness and "Fortune and Men's Eyes" (1971). His music also appeared in "Rhinoceros" (1972) and the Doris Fishwick drama "Moon Over the Alley" (1980). In the eighties and the nineties, MacDermot's music increasingly set the pace for dramas, including films like "Tinamer" (1988) with Gilles Vigneault and Louise Portal and "Riding the Rails" (1989).
