Actor George Innes was known for his roles on the silver screen. Innes began his acting career appearing in various films, such as the dramatic adaptation "Billy Liar" (1963) with Tom Courtenay, the Albert Finney comedic drama "Charlie Bubbles" (1967) and "Before Winter Comes" (1968). He also appeared in "The Italian Job" (1969) with Michael Caine, "The Engagement" (1970) and the drama "Pope Joan" (1972) with Liv Ullmann. His film career continued throughout the seventies and the eighties in productions like "The Medusa Touch" (1978), "The Odd Job" (1978) and "Quadrophenia" (1979). He also landed a role in the miniseries "Shogun" (1980-81). Film continued to be his passion as he played roles in the dramatic adaptation "Last Orders" (2001) with Michael Caine, the Russell Crowe action picture "Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World" (2003) and the Geoffrey Rush foreign sequel "Elizabeth: The Golden Age" (2007). He also was featured in the TV movie "Agatha Christie's "A Caribbean Mystery"" (CBS, 1983). Most recently, Innes acted in the Claire Danes comedic adventure "Stardust" (2007).
