George Lewis was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Lewis's earliest roles were in film, including "Captain Blood" (1924) with J Warren Kerrigan, "His People" (1925) and "13 Washington Square" (1928). He also appeared in the drama "Heart Punch" (1932) with Lloyd Hughes, "Wolf Dog" (1933) and "Whispering Shadows" (1933). He kept working in film throughout the forties, starring in the adventure "Perils of Nyoka" (1942) with Kay Aldridge, "Daredevils of the West" (1943) and the Sidney Toler mystery "Charlie Chan in the Secret Service" (1944). He also appeared in "The Falcon in Mexico" (1944). Film continued to be his passion as he played roles in the Alan Ladd action flick "Saskatchewan" (1954), the Alan Ladd western "Drum Beat" (1954) and the drama "The Prodigal" (1955) with Lana Turner. He also appeared in "Davy Crockett and the River Pirates" (1956) and the Richard Conte thriller "The Brothers Rico" (1957). Lewis was most recently credited in "Comedy Bang! Bang!" (IFC, 2011-). Lewis passed away in December 1995 at the age of 92.
