Gordon MacRae was a prolific actor who created a name for himself largely on the big screen. MacRae's early acting career consisted of roles in various films, such as the biopic "Look For the Silver Lining" (1949) with June Haver, "Backfire" (1950) and "The Daughter of Rosie O'Grady" (1950). He also appeared in "Tea For Two" (1950) and the James Cagney musical "The West Point Story" (1950). His film career continued throughout the fifties in productions like "On Moonlight Bay" (1951), the musical "Starlift" (1951) with Janice Rule and "About Face" (1952). Toward the end of his career, he tackled roles in "Carousel" (1956), "The Best Things in Life Are Free" (1956) and "The Pilot" (1979). MacRae was most recently credited in the comedy adaptation "Welcome to Woop Woop" (1998) with Johnathon Schaech. He held additional roles in television including a part on "Vaudeville" (1974-75). MacRae was married to Elizabeth Lambert Schrafft and had four children. MacRae passed away in January 1986 at the age of 65.
