Although he's not as well known as his younger brother, Dean, who starred in David Lynch's "Blue Velvet ," among other notable films, Guy Stockwell acted in dozens of films and television shows in a career that spanned five decades. After doing uncredited work for television in the late 1950s, Stockwell received his big break in 1961, landing a recurring role on the outdoor action series "Adventures in Paradise." He played the role of the first mate, Chris Parker, for one season, before being hired by Universal Studios as a contract player in 1965. From there, Stockwell starred in the historical epics "The War Lord" and "Tobruk ." He played Buffalo Bill Cody in 1966's "The Plainsman," but his contract with Universal ended in 1968. As a result, Stockwell gravitated towards television. Throughout the 1970s and 1980s he guest-starred on cop dramas like "CHiPs " and "T.J. Hooker ," before making his final onscreen appearance as a club owner on the crime series "Columbo" in 1990.
