Herbert Kretzmer's musical talents have contributed to a variety of Hollywood productions. Kretzmer began his entertainment career with his music featured in films like the dramatic adaptation "I Like Money" (1961) with Peter Sellers, the Michael Redgrave comedy adaptation "No, My Darling Daughter" (1961) and the comedic adaptation "The Bobo" (1967) with Peter Sellers. His music also appeared in "Can Heironymus Merkin Ever Forget Mercy Humppe and Find True Happiness?" (1969) with Anthony Newley. In the seventies and the early 2000s, Kretzmer's music continued to appear on the silver screen, including in films like the Julia Roberts smash hit romantic comedy "Notting Hill" (1999), "Tadpole" (2002) with Aaron Stanford and the crime drama "Infamous" (2006) with Toby Jones. Kretzmer's music was also featured in the Brittany Murphy romantic comedy "Love and Other Disasters" (2007). Kretzmer's music was most recently used in the Helen Mirren dramatic adaptation "The Hundred-Foot Journey" (2014). Kretzmer was nominated for an Academy Award for "Les Misérables" in 2012. He followed this recognition writing music for "Million Dollar Arm" (2014). Herbert Kretzmer died on October 14, 2020 in London, United Kingdom at the age of 95.
