Producer Howard Klein cut his teeth overseeing Richard Lewis's stand-up-comedy films "The I'm Exhausted Concert" and "Richard Lewis: I'm Doomed." After a brief foray into the adult industry, Klein launched 3 Arts Entertainment, a production company designed to foster comedy, drama, and documentary projects. Beginning with the cop-movie spoof "Loaded Weapon 1" (1993), Klein concerned himself heavily with the humor leg of his production outfit, putting his personal mark on such projects as the animated TV series "King of the Hill" and helping comedians such as Dave Chappelle rise to prominence with landmark comedy specials. In 2003, Klein's involvement with HBO's supernatural mystery series "Carnivale" shattered the perceptions of his company's scope. He soon thereafter became one of the driving forces behind the smash-hit single-camera sitcoms "The Office" and "Parks and Recreation." While Klein continues to oversee similarly long-running series such as "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia," his company continues its practice of working alongside stand-up comedians on such projects as the concert film "Louis C.K.: Shameless" and the related television show "Louie."
