Actor Iddo Goldberg was born in Tel Aviv, Israel, but his family moved to London (where Goldberg grew up) at the age of 10. With no acting experience to his credit, a 16-year-old Goldberg dropped out of school to pursue a career in show business. Though it took him a few years, he finally managed to land a minor side role in the quirky 1999 indie-comedy "Fast Food." During the early 2000s, Goldberg showed up in anything he could manage (regardless of language or genre), ranging from an episode of the long-running TV crime-drama "The Bill" to the multi-lingual 2002 romantic comedy film "L'Auberge Espagnole." And as he continued to build his resume, his roles gradually started to grow in terms of both quality and screen time. In 2005, he contributed a supporting performance to the Forest Whitaker-starring drama-thriller "A Little Trip to Heaven," and he appeared briefly in the Simon Pegg-starring 2007 comedy "Run, Fatboy, Run" (which was directed by "Friends" star David Schwimmer"). But he saved his finest roles for later in the decade; first, Goldberg landed a co-starring role as Ben on the British drama "Secret Diary of a Call Girl," and he branched out in 2008 with his supporting spot as Yitzhak Shulman in the Oscar-nominated historical drama "Defiance."
