Jacob Ming-Trent booked his first professional stage role at the age of 11. Born in Boston but raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Ming-Trent moved to New York to begin training at the Stella Adler studio at the age of 17. Before long, he became the youngest person ever accepted into the Public Theater in NYC's Shakespeare Lab, and went on to earn an MFA from American Conservatory Theater. Ming-Trent made his screen debut in 2007 with a guest appearance on an episode of  "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" (NBC, 2001-2011). He made his Broadway debut the following year when he was cast in the hit show "Shrek: The Musical." Ming-Trent would continue to make memorable appearance on shows like "Bored to Death" (HBO, 2009-2011) and "30 Rock" (NBC, 2006-2013), before returning to Broadway in 2013 to earn praise for his performance in "Hands on a Hardbody." He would also play the First Gentleman in the Public Theater's Shakespeare in the Park production of "Cymbeline" in addition to playing Sir Toby Belch in an off-Broadway musical adaptation of Shakespeare's "Twelfth Night" at the Public Theater before returning to TV in 2016 to co-star on the short-lived series  "Feed the Beast" (AMC, 2016-2016) with David Schwimmer. In 2017, Ming-Trent joined the cast of the Showtime series "White Famous" (Showtime, 2017-), executive produced by Jamie Foxx and starring Jay Pharaoh.
