James Stacy began acting at the tender age of 13. He had a part on the television special "Lost Treasure" (CBS, 1970-71). He worked in television in his early acting career as well, including a part on "The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet" (ABC, 1952-1966). He also starred in the TV movies "Heat of Anger" (1971-72), "Paper Man" (CBS, 1971-72) and "Ordeal" (ABC, 1973-74). During these years, he also worked in film, earning a part in the western "Posse" (1975) with Kirk Douglas. He followed this recognition with roles in "My Kidnapper, My Love" (1980-81), , the horror feature "Something Wicked This Way Comes" (1983) with Jason Robards, , and "Matters of the Heart" (1990-91), Stacy more recently acted in the action picture "FX2 - The Deadly Art of Illusion" (1991) with Bryan Brown. Stacy was married to Connie Stevens. Stacy was nominated for an Outstanding Guest Performer In a Drama Series Primetime Emmy Award for "Cagney & Lacey" in 1986.
