Jean Vander Pyl was a voice actress for Hanna-Barbera Productions in the '60s and '70s. Her most famous character was that of prehistoric homemaker Wilma on the classic cartoon sitcom "The Flintstones." Her first voice role for the famous animation studio was on an episode of "The Huckleberry Hound Show" in 1959. Around that same time, Vander Pyl also provided voices for "Quick Draw McGraw," "The Yogi Bear Show," and "The Jetsons." She got her showbiz start in the 1950s with the leading role of Margaret Anderson in the radio version of "Father Knows Best." On television she guest-starred in a number of hit shows including "Leave It to Beaver," "Petticoat Junction," and "The Beverly Hillbillies." After "The Flintstones " went into syndication in 1967 Vander Pyl provided voices for "Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!" and "Hong Kong Phooey" and played the part of Wilma for numerous "Flintstones"-related specials. In later years, she appeared on single episodes of "Hardcastle and McCormick" and "Murder, She Wrote," as well as making a cameo in the screen version of "The Flintstones."
