Though best known as a TV director and producer, Jeffrey Reiner began his career in the post-production side of things, serving as an editor on 1987's "Kandyland." Next, he cut the B-movie horror "Cheerleader Camp," which was fittingly campy. After a string of low-budget movies, Reiner wrote, directed, and edited his own comedy crime caper, 1991's "Blood and Concrete." In 1993, he produced the action comedy "Trouble Bound," and served as a producer on several episodes of the popular martial arts show for kids "Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers." This led to editorial duties on the big-budget action comedy "3 Ninjas Kick Back." By the late '90s, Reiner was moving away from editing and towards producing and directing. He built up his reputation as a director with such shows as "Haunted," "Columbo," and "The Division." Then in 2006, he signed on to co-executive produce and direct the new football-centric drama series "Friday Night Lights," which was based on a film of the same name. By 2008, he was promoted to executive producer moved with creator Peter Berg to his next project, "Trauma." The show was short-lived, but Reiner rebounded in 2010 with "The Event," a crime drama centered on government conspiracy.
