Born in Texas in 1981, Jim Parrack moved to Los Angeles in 2001 to study acting. There, he enrolled in the Stella Adler Academy and also studied at the Playhouse West. In 2006, Parrack made his on-screen debut, appearing in guest spots on various TV series as well as a supporting role in the feature film "Annapolis" (2006), starring James Franco. In 2008, Parrack landed his first series regular role, on the show "True Blood" (HBO, 2008-2014). His character, Hoyt Fortenberry, one of the few people in the town of Bon Temps, Louisiana who seems to accept vampires, eventually marries one. He appears in every season of the series, except the sixth, returning for season seven, the show's last. Although he was a regular on "True Blood" the show allowed him to continue to work on films including the alien invasion spectacle "Battle: Los Angeles" (2011), and "A Night in Old Mexico" (2013) starring Robert Duvall. When "True Blood" ended in 2014, Parrack did not remain idle. He played a recurring guest role on "Resurrection" (ABC, 2014-15) and took supporting roles in a number of films, including the WWII tank film "Fury" (2014), which starred Brad Pitt, and "Wild Horses" (2015), written, directed, and starring Duvall. Parrack was also slated to appear in Warner Bros. tentpole action film, "Suicide Squad" (2016).
