Joan Blackman was an actress who was no stranger to being featured in numerous film roles throughout her Hollywood career. Blackman began her acting career appearing in various films, such as "Good Day For a Hanging" (1958), the Anthony Franciosa dramatic adaptation "Career" (1959) and the Tony Curtis dramatic adaptation "The Great Impostor" (1960). She also appeared in "Visit to a Small Planet" (1960) and "Blue Hawaii" (1961). She kept working in film throughout the sixties and the seventies, starring in the Elvis Presley dramatic adaptation "Kid Galahad" (1962), the crime drama "Twilight of Honor" (1963) with Richard Chamberlain and "Pets" (1973). She also worked in television around this time, including a part on "Peyton Place" (ABC, 1964-69). During the latter half of her career, she tackled roles in the action flick "Macon County Line" (1974) with Alan Vint, the James Mitchum action picture "Moonrunners" (1975) and the horror feature "Shivers" (1975) with Paul Hampton. She also appeared in "A Merry War" (1998). Most recently, Blackman acted in "Bridget Jones' Diary" (2001) with Renee Zellweger.
