Joel Dawson was a British actor and singer who first rose to prominence at a young age, appearing in the long-awaited sequel to one of the most beloved films of all time, "Mary Poppins" (1964). Born and raised in England, Dawson was still primary school aged when he beat out thousands of other children by landing the role of Georgie Banks, young son of the now adult Michael Banks (Ben Whishaw) in "Mary Poppins Returns" (2018), a direct sequel to the Disney classic, which saw Emily Blunt take on the titular role of the magical nanny made so famous by Julie Andrews, and opened to critical acclaim and Oscar buzz in December of 2018.
