John Warburton's acting talents were showcased on the big screen many times throughout the course of his Hollywood career. In his early acting career, Warburton appeared in such films as the Reginald Owen mystery "A Study in Scarlet" (1933), the Diana Wynyard dramatic adaptation "Cavalcade" (1933) and the Warner Oland mystery "Charlie Chan's Greatest Case" (1933). He also appeared in the Brian Aherne action picture "Captain Fury" (1939) and "The White Cliffs of Dover" (1944) with Irene Dunne. His passion for acting continued to his roles in projects like the Charles Boyer adventure "Confidential Agent" (1945), the comedy "Nothing But Trouble" (1945) with Stan Laurel and the drama "Saratoga Trunk" (1946) with Gary Cooper. He also appeared in "Tarzan and the Huntress" (1947) with Johnny Weissmuller and "City Beneath the Sea" (1953). Toward the end of his career, he tackled roles in the adventure "East of Sumatra" (1953) with Jeff Chandler, the dramatic adaptation "King Rat" (1965) with George Segal and the Frank Sinatra action movie "Assault on a Queen" (1966). Warburton was most recently credited in the romantic comedy "Easy Virtue" (2009) with Jessica Biel. He also worked in television during these years, including a part on "Star Trek" (NBC, 1966-69). Warburton passed away in October 1981 at the age of 82.
