An actor with a nomadic career, the friendly faced Jon Cedar is perhaps best known for his recurring role as bumbling, Cpl. Karl Langenscheidt, in the hit 1960s sitcom, "Hogan's Heroes," which portrayed the sneaky adventures of prisoners in a German World War II camp. Cedar worked steadily for 35 years, appearing in fare both ludicrous (the 1988 FBI trainee feature comedy, "Feds") and serious (the hour long courtroom drama, "Matlock"). Fans of B-movies may recognize Cedar for his efforts behind "The Manitou," which centered on a resurrected Indian medicine man who wreaks supernatural havoc after emerging from Susan Strasberg's neck tumor. In addition to his role in the film, which starred Tony Curtis and Burgess Meredith, Cedar co-wrote the script and served as an associate producer. Cedar had a featured role in the forest-runs-amok thriller, "The Day of the Animals." Since the late '90s, Cedar has had fewer on-screen roles; he works as an acting coach.
