Joseph LoDuca was an accomplished jazz musician before he made a name for himself scoring music for some of the most celebrated horror cult classics of all time. LoDuca began his career as a film composer on "The Evil Dead," an intentionally over-the-top horror film about a band of people besieged in a cabin by demonic forces. The sole survivor (the chain saw-wielding Ash, played with requisite camp by Bruce Campbell) enjoyed another demon onslaught (and more of LoDuca's signature music) in "Evil Dead II." LoDuca reprised his role as composer for the franchise's bloody time-traveling finale, "Army of Darkness." By then, LoDuca was highly sought-after for B-movies in both the horror and the thriller genres. He found a new home for himself on television, though, composing music for sword-and-sandal TV series like "Hercules: The Legendary Journeys" and "Xena: Warrior Princess," both of which also garnered vast cult fandom.
