French actress Joséphine de Meaux displayed a profound interest in the performing arts already at an early age. By 10 years old, she was pursuing acting technique training at the Jean-Louis Martin Barbaz Studio. While studying at France's Conservatoire National Supérieur d'Art Dramatique (CNSAD), she took four months abroad to hone her craft at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow, Scotland. After graduation from the CNSAD, she took to the stage for the first time as a professional actress. In the theater, she had the good fortune of working under such lauded directors as Christophe Huysman and Judith Depaule, who inspired her to try her hand at directing. Yet, de Meux is most recognized for her roles in French film and television. In 2003, not long after making her television debut with a one-off in the long-running French law drama "Avocats & associés," the sharp actress made her film debut as the ''Dumb Nurse'' in the César-nominated psychological thriller "Who Killed Bambi?" While she has since gone on to appear in a number of heralded features, including the César-nominated comedy "Vilaine," de Meaux is best-known Stateside for her supporting turn in her first feature. As her movie career blooms, she continues to balance work in film and television with performances in the theater.
