Karen Robinson was a Canadian actress born in London, England in 1968. Robinson's family moved to Jamaica shortly after her birth, where she was raised until the family moved again to Drumheller, Alberta when Robinson was a teenager. As a child, Robinson participated in choirs, school plays, and poetry recitals, and attended Mount Royal College to study communication and theatre. She made her film debut in a low-budget horror film entitled "Stalked" (1994), and in 1996, her television debut on "Goosebumps" (YTV/Fox Kids, 1995-98), an adaptation of R.L. Stine's beloved children's horror books. Robinson also worked extensively on the stage, originating the role of the title character in Lorena Gale's play "Angelique" in 1998. She made numerous appearances on Canadian television throughout the next two decades, also landing a notable role in the Ryan Gosling-led film "Lars and the Real Girl" (2007). But Robinson's best-known role was as recurring character Ronnie Lee on sitcom "Schitt's Creek" (CBC, 2015-19). She also landed an episodic part on an episode of the first season of "The Handmaid's Tale" (Hulu, 2017- ) and won a Canadian Screen Award for a 2018 guest role on the series "Mary Kills People" (Global, 2017- ).
