An intelligent actress, Laurence Leboeuf cut a striking figure onscreen, winning over fans and critics alike. Born Dec. 13, 1986 in Montréal, Québec, Canada, Laurence Charlotte Leboeuf was the daughter of actors Marcel Leboeuf and Diane Lavallée. She made her screen debut on the long-running high school drama "Virginie" (Radio-Canada, 1996-2010) and became a star when she was chosen to anchor the coming-of-age dramedy about competitive teenage tennis players, "15/Love" (YTV, 2004-06). Nominated for a Gemini Award for her work, Leboeuf subsequently achieved an international breakthrough with roles in such productions as "Human Trafficking" (Lifetime, 2005) and "Si j'étais toi" ("The Secret") (2007). She won a Best Supporting Actress Jutra and earned a Genie nomination for her performance as Angelique, a drug-addicted stripper who attempts to protect her friend from falling into the world of pornography in the thriller "Ma fille, mon ange" ("My Daughter, My Angel") (2007). Heavily in demand, the actress also became a ubiquitous TV presence with roles on "Les Lavigueur, la vraie histoire" (Radio-Canada, 2008), "Musée Éden" (Radio-Canada, 2010), "Being Erica" (CBC, 2009-2011) and "Being Human" (Syfy/Space, 2011- ), with the latter two series achieving American crossover success. Leboeuf was nominated for another Gemini for her work on "Durham County" (TK, TK) and reached even wider audiences with her nuanced turn as the emotionally damaged Sophie Léveillée, a surgical resident haunted by her past on "Trauma" (Radio-Canada, 2010- ).
