Leo Robin

Academy Award-winner Leo Robin led an extraordinary career writing music for various big screen productions. Robin began his entertainment career with his music featured in films like "The Dance of Life" (1929), "Close Harmony" (1929) and "Innocents of Paris" (1929). His music also appeared in "Behind the Make-Up" (1930) and the Jack Buchanan comedic adaptation "Monte Carlo" (1930). Robin won a Music (Song) Academy Award for "The Big Broadcast of 1938" in 1938. Robin was nominated for a Music (Song) Academy Award for "She Loves Me Not" in 1934 as well as for a Music (Song) Academy Award for "Artists and Models" in 1937. In the forties and the fifties, Robin's music continued to appear on the silver screen, including in films like "That Lady in Ermine" (1948) with Betty Grable, the Betty Grable musical "Meet Me After the Show" (1951) and "Just For You" (1952). Robin won an Academy Award for "That Lady in Ermine" in 1948 Robin's music was most recently featured in "Meet Monica Velour" (2011) with Kim Cattrall. Robin passed away in December 1984 at the age of 89.
