Linda Hart was widely known for her acting on the big screen. She began her career at age seven performing on TV with her family in the gospel show "The Harts." In 2000, she played Minnie Driver's mother in "Beautiful." Known for making audiences laugh, Hart began her acting career in comedies like "The Best of Times" (1986) and "Stella" (1990) starring Bette Midler. She had a part on the television special "It's Garry Shandling's Show -- 25th Anniversary Special" (Showtime, 1985-86). Hart worked in television around the start of her acting career with a role on "Night Court" (NBC, 1983-1992). Hart also contributed music to "Honky Tonk Freeway" (1981) with Beau Bridges. Her work around this time also included a part on the TV movie "Gypsy" (CBS, 1993-94). In the nineties, she worked on the television shows "Muddling Through" (CBS, 1993-94) and "Touched By an Angel" (CBS, 1994-2003). She also appeared in the action film "Get Shorty" (1995) with John Travolta. during these years Hart focused on film in more recent years, appearing in "Wicked" (1998) with Julia Stiles, "Crazy in Alabama" (1999) with Melanie Griffith and the Al Pacino dramatic adaptation "The Insider" (1999). She also appeared in the action flick "Showtime" (2002) with Robert De Niro and "The First $20 Million Is Always the Hardest" (2002). Hart most recently acted on "The Winner" (Fox, 2006-07).
