Actor Martin Gabel was widely known for his presence on the silver screen. Gabel had an early acting career in film, appearing in such titles as the drama "Fourteen Hours" (1951) with Paul Douglas, the crime picture "M" (1951) with David Wayne and the crime flick "Deadline U.S.A." (1952) with Humphrey Bogart. He also appeared in "The Thief" (1952). He had a part on the television special "Hercule Poirot" (CBS, 1961-62). He continued to act in productions like "Goodbye, Charlie" (1964) with Tony Curtis, "Marnie" (1964) and "Lord Love a Duck" (1966) with Roddy McDowall. He also appeared in the Dick Van Dyke comedy "Divorce American Style" (1967) and the Frank Sinatra adaptation sequel "Lady in Cement" (1968). He also was featured in the TV movies "Harvey" (1971-72), "Smile Jenny, You're Dead" (ABC, 1973-74) and "Contract on Cherry Street" (NBC, 1977-78). Gabel more recently acted in "First Deadly Sin" (1980). Gabel passed away in May 1986 at the age of 74.
