Whether it was rocking out with the punk/ska band Link 80 or crafting "found footage" video shorts with the filmmaking collective Radio Silence, Matt Bettinelli-Olpin always walked on the edge creatively. Seen by many as a spokesman for his own Generation X, Matt Bettinelli-Olpin would probably reject such a limiting concept, but it fit him well. His band married two energetic music styles and his films continued to use old tech concepts such as found film with new distribution venues such as the internet. Whatever else he may have done, Matt Bettinelli-Olpin continued to be a creative with a vision in two worlds.
