Actor Max Baker has one of those faces that you recognize but can never place. Baker grew up in London, where he was one of the founding members of the Kite Theatre and studied improv with members of the Royal Shakespeare Company. He attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University and then transferred to Wayne State University for their MFA Acting program. Baker won the Irene Ryan Scholarship Award for acting excellence from the Kennedy Center, as well as the Detroit Free Press Theater Excellence Award for Best Actor for his work in "Peer Gynt" at the Hilberry Repertory Theater. After moving to New York City to pursue acting, he appeared in a number of productions. His television debut was one of his most interesting roles, in the ill-fated UPN sitcom " The Secret Diary of Desmond Pfeiffer," where he played the assistant to a black English nobleman. Since then, he has appeared on FOX's sci-fi hit "Fringe," "NYPD Blue" and "Medium," as well as appearing in films as diverse as "Revolutionary Road" and "Newlyweds." He has also written several plays that have been produced Off-Broadway. Baker is married to actress Lucy Childs, and the two live in New York City. He enjoys soccer, cycling, oil painting and playing chess.
